Prof. Dr. Ashok Vaseashta

Prof. Dr. Ashok Vaseashta is Executive Director and Chair of Institution Review Board at NJCU, USA. He is Professor of Professional Security Studies, Chaired Professor of Nanotechnology at the Ghitu Institute of Electronic Engineering and Nanotechnologies, Academy of Science, Moldova and serves as strategic advisor to many government and non-government organizations. He provides strategic leadership to promote and advance research initiatives and priorities in support of defense and security. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society, Institute of Nanotechnology, and the New York Academy of Sciences. His research interests include counter-terrorism, unconventional warfare, critical-infrastructure protection, biosecurity, advanced and Nano materials for development of chemical-bio sensors/detectors, and environmental pollution monitoring/detecting and remediation. He authored over 250 research publications, edited/authored seven books on Nanotechnology, Cyber security and Sensing/detection platforms, and has presented many keynote and invited lectures worldwide. He received PhD from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA in 1990. He served as a William C. Foster fellow in the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation at the US Department of State working with the Office of Weapons of Mass Destruction and Terrorism and Foreign Consequence Management program. He also served as a Franklin Fellow and strategic S&T advisor in the office of Verification and Transparency Technologies/Arms Verification and Control at the US Department of State. He served as the Director of several NATO Advanced Study Institutes and Advanced Research workshops supported by NATO’s Emerging Security Challenges Division. He was awarded Gold medal by the State Engineering University of Armenia for his contribution to Nanotechnology. He has earned several fellowships and awards for his meritorious services.
