In a digital global age, digital data touches almost every component of a nation: its government, industries, organizations, academia, and individuals (NGIOA). In the coming years, almost everything is expected to become digitized.

This growing surge of unsecured digital data leaves each and every individual and entity across nations increasingly vulnerable to security risks.

While the technology for managing and communicating digital data is improving at a remarkable rate, the rapid technological advances and progress come at the expense of security. Moreover, as information and communication technology rapidly changes, it is becoming less possible to identify, manage or control where digital data originates, or where digital data flows and ends up.

There are many who feel that the cryptographic techniques will likely become the only viable approach to assuring the privacy and security of digital data as there is a growing belief that highly secure encryption can be deployed relatively cheaply, and it can be broadly adopted and embedded fairly easily in most digital communications products and applications for handling potentially valuable digital data.
