O. Shawn Cupp retired after serving over 20 years on active duty as an officer in the US Army. Currently he is an Professor of Force Sustainment & Management, in the Department of Logistics and Resource Operations (DLRO) of the US Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas where is has over eighteen years of experience teaching graduate level in both military and civilian roles. His previous military experience includes a deployment to Djibouti, Africa where he served as the CJ-4, Deputy Director for Logistics for the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) supporting OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. Also during his military career, Dr. Cupp served in deployments to OPERATION JOINT GUARDIAN in the Former Yugoslavia Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and Kosovo, and OPERATION DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Dr. Cupp is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. of Agricultural Education and a M.S. of Vocational and Technical Education. He also graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College with a Master of Military Art and Science (MMAS). He earned a Ph.D. in Adult and Continuing Education from Kansas State University. Dr. Cupp researched, taught, published, and presented on a variety of homeland security and agricultural security related issues to wide range of audiences including graduate level instruction, university and civic organizations, and national level conferences.
