Aafreen is a Ph.D. candidate at O.P. Jindal Global University. She was previously holding a position as an Assistant Professor with the School of Law, Bennett University. She holds an LL.B degree from Goa University and LL.M degree in Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Law from the Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies, O.P. Jindal Global University. For her LL.M thesis, she worked on the topic “IP Protection of Computer Software and the Copyleft Movement: An Indian Perspective.” She was awarded the Gold Medal for standing first in LL.M and the Nani A. Palkhiwala Memorial Gold Medal for academic excellence. She has also worked as a Research Assistant at Jindal Initiative on Research in IP & Competition (JIRICO), O.P. Jindal Global University. Her primary research interests are in areas of Data Protection Law, Constitutional Law, IP and Technology. Her Ph.D foucess on the intersection between privacy law and data protection in India.
