David Yakobovitch, a Principal Data Scientist, AI Instructor, Host of HumAIn Podcast in the United States participate in Risk Roundup to discuss the Artificial Intelligence Trends for 2019.
Artificial Intelligence Trends
As Artificial Intelligence (AI) brings a profound and lasting shift in the nature of intelligence and the relative balance of information power, its rapid advances, application, and adoption across cyberspace, geospace, aquaspace, and space (CAGS) will offer individuals and entities across nations: its government, industries, organizations, and academia (NGIOA) as many opportunities as it does challenges.
The fundamental transformation, revolution, and evolution capability that AI brings have leveled the playing field for everyone across nations. What is common to everyone is access to technology and information. But what is not common is how we use that information—and for what purpose and goals.
While artificial intelligence has given industries across nations the same starting point in access to relevant technology and information, there are many other variables in each industry ecosystem that will determine whether an industry will be able to use the data and information from its ecosystem to develop and extract intelligence, automate, and transform to succeed.
The rapid technological advances due to evolving algorithms and massive increases in data collection and computing power can be applied almost everywhere. As a result, understanding broader trends has become essential.
- What is the broad promise of AI?
- Where would AI take us?
- What are the AI trends to watch in 2019?
- What advances are occurring in the development of AI?
- Where are the advances being applied across CAGS?
- What systems and practices are shifting across NGIOA?
- How is this shaping the products and services of tomorrow?
- Where is the geopolitics of AI going?
As we continue to explore AI, the hope is to individually and collectively come up with ideas, imagination, innovation, and inventions to not only bring security for humanity in CAGS; but also challenge ourselves to bring progress and development for the future of humanity. That brings us to an important question: what seems to be in store for humanity?
The future of humanity comprises everything that will ever happen to any of us, individually and collectively. The future is happening around us. The changes are profound. In the entire human history, there has never been a time of greater promise or potential peril. As a result, it is essential to understand, what would it mean for human existence, our very survival, and sustainability?
- Do we know and understand the impact of AI trends that are coming our way?
- Are we rising to the challenge?
The time is now to understand and evaluate the security risks emerging from the AI Trends.
