Georges van Hoegaerden, Managing Director of The Venture Company, a Silicon Valley Entrepreneur, Venture Catalyst, CEO, and a Board Member based in the United States participates in Risk Roundup to discuss a New Operating System For Humanity.
A New Operating System For Humanity
As the technology triggered the revolution and evolution of cyberspace, aquaspace, geospace, and space (CAGS) fundamentally transform the human ecosystem, everyone and everything across nations will be impacted in uncountable ways. While the ongoing technology transformation of contested commons will likely bring great rewards, value, and benefits, it will also bring us significant risks and injustices creating enormous imbalances.
There is no doubt that humanity is at the tipping point as this emerging clash in the contested commons will create many security risks for the future of humanity. To manage the security risks facing humanity, there is a need for real change at the very core, in the operating system.
Similar to the computer operating systems that dictates the way a computer works and serves as a foundation upon which all the computer applications are built, humans also have an in-built operating system (OS) that determines their internal behavior and the external operating system that defines and determines the methods at all levels– and everything else in the human ecosystem.
Just like the internet rewrote the operating systems and re-defined our societal infrastructure, it is the changes at the core that is a need of the time to experience not only a quantum leap in progress but also safeguard humanity from the democratization of destruction.
Today, we need an operating system that can help shape the future of humanity beyond Earth. Choices we now make individually, and collectively as conscious agents will determine our path toward either devastating regression or the possibility for the future of humanity beyond Earth.
So, as we look towards our cosmic future, where do we go from here? Individuals and entities from across nations: its governments, industries, organizations, and academia (NGIOA) need to recognize that we cannot be the prisoners of old ways of silo thinking. There is a need for a new way of collective thinking to manage the complexity of integrated CAGS security risks.
Changing the way, we do things leads to evolution, and evolution comes with changes and innovations. It is therefore essential to understand what is culturally and systemically required for any evolutionary innovations for the core of humanity. Let us all embark on having individual and collective conscious goals to elevate the discussion on this critical topic to move beyond self-centeredness and sound bites and into the hearts and minds to shape the coming tomorrow.

About the Guest
Having found and driven diamond-in-the-rough startups to $100M+ exits as a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, 4xCEO, and board-director, including a brief stint as a (part-time) venture partner, Georges van Hoegaerden, began to despise the collusion in venture capital incompatible with finding outliers. On a search for the root cause, he soon came to find out many of our grandfathered systems in policy, capital, and innovation suffered the same fate, thereby systemically limiting the expanding fractal of humanity. Having painstakingly explored nature’s first principles, he now offers top policy-makers, economists, asset managers, venture capitalists, and entrepreneurs new ways to improve the thesis of the systems they have built, and in doing so, reinvigorate and maximize the human ingenuity responsible for improved outcomes.
